Just over a year ago I was doing quite well, fitness-wise. I'd gotten back to my goal weight of 11 stone, and I'd just ran Solihull Half Marathon in a whisker under 2 hours.

Then I stopped!

My current weight is 12 stone 9lb. Somehow during lockdown I've managed to gain enough weight so that none of my trousers do up (I'll save everyone the pictures but the tape measure is saying 36 inches, my trousers are 32!), |My body fat percentage is an unhealthy 20.6%, so over a fifth of me is just fat!

Today I went on the longest run I could manage, which was 4 miles. I managed it in 42 minutes which is about the speed I'd expect, but the fact that I can't run any further than that will be a huge issue.

Split times for today's run are here:

The fourth mile was pretty much all downhill and still it nearly killed me. I'm getting too old for this nonsense!

So yes the first things will be to gradually work on upping my distance and cut down on the chocolate.

(I really want chocolate now I've said that!)
