Okay so running-wise over the last 2 weeks I've been quite naughty. I've been on holiday so skipped lots of mid-week training sessions, and one long 7 miler. I was a bit worried but then I managed my scheduled 7 miles last Saturday (taking it really easy but it's the distance that counts). But what's the general thoughts on missing sessions?

According to this realbuzz article it's not too bad. You can miss one session without any ill effects. Even a week isn't awful, and is just a bit harder to catch up afterwards. If you miss two weeks then it takes about two weeks to get back to the same fitness level you were before.

This RunnersConnect article agrees. It says:

If you are consistent the majority of the time, you can afford a few missed workouts without losing any fitness.

The article goes on to talk about treasuring the reasons for missed time, and I certainly did that this week (Okay, one more holiday photo below). It's important to keep disciplined in this running marlarkey where possible, but sometimes things happen, and that's okay.
