This isn't JUST to share the pictures of me running the Leamington Spa Half Marathon...
"What's that around your waist?" I hear you ask. Well, it's a running belt made especially for the London Marathon, with a zip compartment in the middle to hold a phone, and one net on either side to hold a drinks bottle. It's part of London Marathon's attempt to create less waste. Many people were having some water out of their water bottle and then throwing away the rest of the bottle, and they're hoping that encouraging people to wear these belts will mean they carry their water for longer and not throw the bottle away until they've finished drinking what's inside them.
I think they do their job quite well. I honestly didn't feel any extra weight while running, and my phone didn't go off in the pocket, so they did their job. I'm not sure whether I'll wear it for the marathon. I tend to drink all the water I get or pour it over my head anyway, but I can detach the nets and wear the middle bit, which will be a good way to hold my phone, and the whole thing will be good for training.
