Well it's time to use some of my fundraising budget, and launch my first event! The Great 11th July Half Marathon Sweepstake!

On Sunday 11th July I'm running my first race of the season, the Leamington Spa half marathon. I don't know what time I'm going to finish. It's very likely to be between 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours.

So to make it more interesting, I'm running a sweepstake. For every £5 sponsorship I get this week (at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DavidRunsLondon) you get allocated a random time period. If I finish the half marathon within that time period then you win the prize!

The prize money will go up depending on how many donations we get, but won't come out of the donations because, well charity. The amount will be the same as 25% of all money raised between now and 12 noon on Friday 9th July. I'll allocate times to donors on Friday afternoon.

The fastest time slot will be "Under 1:30". The slowest time slot will be "Over 2:00", the other time slots will be equally divided between £5 donations, so for example if I get 6 donations then the slots would be:


1 - Under 1:30

2 - 1:30 - 1:45

3 - 1:45 - 2:00

4 - 2:00 - 2:15

5 - 2:15 - 2:30

6 -  Over 2:30

More people entering means smaller slots, but also a bigger prize pot, so win-win!
