One of the most iconic and memorable moments of running London Marathon is running over Tower Bridge. It's at about Mile 12, you round the corner, and suddenly there's a deafening crowd and a really cool bridge that you're about to run over.  Then you run over FLIPPIN TOWER BRIDGE!!

It really is a truly gorgeous moment, and one of the key things that motivated me to run. The roaring crowd stretches from there all the way to mile 14, and then there's a loop after a while and you run back the other way (turning just before you'd have to run through tower bridge a second time). My wife and kids managed to find a spot at Mile 13, so caught me running in both directions. It's a very popular spot to stand!

From the marathon website: "Built between 1886 and 1894, the bridge offers millions of viewers from around the world an amazing view of you and thousands of other runners crossing the River Thames from south to north just before the halfway point in the marathon."
